The Halaal Foundation of South Africa is a South African based organization, representing the Muslim Ummah on all matters relating to the consumption, purchase, sale, and general trade of products that need to meet the Halaal requirements. The Halaal Foundation of South Africa works towards guiding the Muslim community pertaining to the general application of the term Halaal with specific reference to Islamic dietary laws.

For the purpose of the Halaal Foundation of South Africa, we through our HAS – Halaal Assurance System insure that our clients, franchises, abattoirs, fisheries, restaurants, take-aways are Halaal strictly in terms of Shariah. All food and drinks which are wholesome and pure are permissible for Muslims to partake of as stated in the Holy Qur`an: “O you who believe! Eat of the wholesome and pure (Tayyibat) that We have provided for you, and be thankful To Allah if it is he alone whom you worship. “ (Al-Baqarah, 2:172)
